President Muizzu Reaffirms Solidarity with Qatar in Meeting with Amir Sheikh Tamim

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of Qatar, in Doha on Monday, where he conveyed condolences over the recent Israeli attack on Qatar.
During the audience, President Dr Muizzu expressed his sympathy over the fatalities caused by the recent Israeli attack on Qatar and reaffirmed the Maldives’ strong solidarity with the Government and people of Qatar. He condemned the violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and expressed full support for its efforts to uphold regional peace and stability.
The President also commended Qatar’s leadership in convening the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit and recognised its continued contributions towards mediation efforts and humanitarian support for Palestine.
The two leaders also discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation across a wide range of fields of mutual interest. President Muizzu expressed his gratitude to the Amir for Qatar’s ongoing support for the Maldives in numerous areas.
Concluding the meeting, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further deepening Maldives–Qatar relations and underscored the importance of unity within the Muslim Ummah. They also reiterated their shared commitment to upholding international law and pursuing a just and peaceful two-state solution in support of the Palestinian people’s struggle for sovereignty and self-determination.
