The Maldives has strongly condemned drone and missile attacks targeting civilian areas and vital infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the attacks as a blatant violation of the sovereignty of the UAE and a serious threat to regional security and stability.
Reaffirming its full solidarity with the government and people of the UAE, the statement expressed the Maldives’ support for all measures undertaken to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity. It further underscored the urgent need to avoid further escalation and calls for dialogue and diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and preserve stability in the region.
The attacks are reported to involve Iranian missiles and drones targeting UAE territory.
