Contracts Awarded for New Health Facilities in Haa Alifu Atoll and Dhuvaafaru

The government has awarded contracts to two private companies for the construction of a diagnostic services building at Haa Alifu Atoll Hospital and an additional facility to upgrade the Dhuvaafaru Health Centre to hospital status.
The construction of the diagnostic services building in Haa Alifu Atoll was handed over to Perfect Malafehi Maldives Private Limited for USD 317,770, to be completed within six months. The new building will house a CT room, an X-ray room, an ultrasound scan room, and a dedicated room for speech therapy.
Meanwhile, Altec Maldives Private Limited has been awarded the contract to upgrade the Dhuvaafaru Health Centre. The company was awarded the contract to complete the work within six months for USD 1.65 million. An operation theatre complex, an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a nurse station, a procedure room, and medical and non-medical storerooms will be established in the additional building being added to the health centre.
Several projects are underway at various stages to upgrade health services in the atolls.
