Minister of Tourism and Environment Thoriq Ibrahim has engaged in high-level discussions with key global travel and tourism firms on the sidelines of the ITB Berlin Fair 2025, reinforcing efforts to enhance Maldives’ tourism industry.
Accompanied by top officials from the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) and representatives from the country’s tourism sector, Minister Thoriq met with executives from leading German travel company TUI. Talks focused on expanding tourism promotion initiatives and creating exceptional travel experiences for visitors.
Additionally, the Minister held discussions with Edelweiss Air to explore joint promotional efforts and increase flight connectivity during the low season, aiming to strengthen year-round tourist arrivals. Earlier, he also met with Dertour to discuss further collaboration in the sector.
The ITB Berlin Fair 2025, which began on Tuesday and will conclude on Thursday, has attracted a strong Maldivian presence, with a delegation of 200 representatives from 89 companies participating.
