Ruling party to submit PG no-confidence motion to Parliament next week

The governing party of the Maldives state is moving forward with its no-confidence motion against incumbent Prosecutor General Mr. Hussain Shameem.
A member of the Maldivian Democratic Party's (MDP) parliamentary group attested the decision of submitting the motion during the next week.
The MDP parliamentary group member further confirmed that the party was currently attempting to gather required signatures for the motion before submitting it to the Parliament floor.
Ruling party's decision to dismiss Shameem was echoed with a 21 to 17 vote during a previous Parliament session.
MDP's founding member and Parliament Speaker Mohamed Nasheed voiced his disapproval of the move.
On Monday, it was confirmed that a total of 18 parliamentarians of the ruling party as well as Deputy Speaker Ms. Eva Abdulla publicly rejected MDP's decision for the PG's dismissal.
The 18 MPs had declared of standing against the governing party's whip lines while Eva declared that the room for deliberation on any whip must be provided before proceeding with a decision.
