The appeal hearing of the President of the Adhaalath Party Sheikh Imran Abdulla and MDP Chairperson Ali Waheed is scheduled by the High Court to be held today.
Imran and Ali Waheed had appealed the 15-day remand period set by the Criminal Court, following the May Day protest. Imran's hearing has been scheduled for 2:00pm while Ali Waheed's hearing has been scheduled for 2:30pm.
The case was appealed on May 04th, and the High Court accepted the appeal last Thursday.
Ameen Ibrahim’s lawyer, Ahmed Shafeeg said that his case of appeal was submitted a day later therefore it is hoped that his appeal trial will be held tomorrow.
He said that the Criminal Court is claiming that they have forwarded the appeal case of Sobah Rasheed to the High Court but the High Court says that they have not received the case yet.
Sobah’s lawyer is Abdulla Haseen. All lawyers are working as a team for the appeal cases of the detainees.
