President sends condolences following Saudi Aramco helicopter crash

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has sent a message of condolence to Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, following the Saudi Aramco helicopter crash earlier on Sunday.
In his message, President Muizzu said he was deeply saddened to learn of the tragic incident, which claimed the lives of all those on board. The helicopter belonging to Saudi ​oil giant Aramco, crashed on Sunday ‌in Ras Tanura on Saudi Arabia's eastern coast on the Gulf, west of the Strait of ​Hormuz, killing 14 nationals, the state ​news agency reported, adding that the ⁠cause was unknown.
On behalf of the government and people of the Maldives, the president extended his heartfelt condolences to the Crown Prince, the government and the people of Saudi Arabia.
The president also expressed solidarity with the kingdom during what he described as a difficult time, offering his thoughts and prayers to the families of those who lost their lives.
He wished the bereaved strength, patience and comfort as they cope with their loss.
