Chief of Defense Force Major General Ahmed Shiyaam has departed to India on an official trip. He is visiting on an invitation by the Indian Army.
He was seen off at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport by Vice Chief of Defense Force Brigadier General Ahmed Shaahid and senior officers of MNDF.
During the 4-day official trip, Shiyaam will meet senior officers of the Indian army and hold discussions on ways which the two armies can coordinate and areas where India could help the Maldivian army.
Shiyaam was accompanied by the Principal Director of Directorate of Operation and Training Colonel Haamid Shafeeg and the Indian Defense Advisor to the Maldives, Captain Prasaanth Haandoo.
