President, First Lady conclude state visit to Singapore

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed have returned to Male' on Wednesday evening, after concluding their state visit to Singapore.
The First Couple visited Singapore at the invitation of Singapore's President Tharman Shanmugaratnam.
During the visit, President Muizzu held discussions with President Shanmugaratnam and Singapore's Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on strengthening bilateral ties. 
The two leaders also signed several memoranda of understanding (MOUs) in areas that included capacity-building; environmental development, education; and collaboration with Singapore Cooperation Enterprise.
Besides this, two key agreements were also signed with Henley & Partners on a Residence by Investment Programme, and another with APM SPV Private Limited for Project Solar City.
This year marks 50 years since both the Maldives and Singapore established formal diplomatic ties.
To commemorate the occasion, President Muizzu presented a commemorative book to President Shanmugaratnam while the two jointly unveiled commemorative stamps to celebrate the milestone.
Additionally, at the Maldives-Singapore Business Forum, President Muizzu recognized individuals and companies for their contributions to strengthening commercial ties between both countries. The forum also served as a platform to promote investment opportunities aligned with the Maldives Government's Vision 2040.
Besides this, the President and First Lady also met with members of Maldivian community residing in Singapore and hosted a special dinner in their honor.
The First Couple also toured key Singaporean institutions such as the Institute of Technical Education, the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), Tuas Port, the Peranakan Museum, and the Singapore Food Agency.
At the conclusion of the First Couple's state visit, President Muizzu in a post on X said, that this trip had ushered in a new era of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Singapore.
