President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the year ahead will, by the grace of Allah, bring tangible progress towards fulfilling the aspirations of the citizens. He made the remarks in his address to mark the New Year.
The President noted that Maldivians have consistently renewed their commitment to development, prosperity and progress, adding that this dedication is evident throughout the nation’s history. In this context, he said the Administration’s foremost responsibility is to nurture capable and principled individuals, while advancing the national development agenda to secure the Maldives’ place among developed nations.
The President further observed that the new year marks 900 years since the nation embraced Islam, describing the milestone as one of profound significance for this generation of Maldivians.
He also emphasised that the New Year is a time to reflect on the contributions individuals can make to themselves, to society and to the nation – both collectively and individually – and to renew their resolve to work for the benefit and well-being of all.
