MVR 2.9 million received as Fitr Zakat in first ten days

Ministry of Islamic Affairs has said that MVR 2.9 million has been received as Fitr Zakat in the first ten days of Ramadan.
Statistics shared by Zakat House show that Fitr Zakat paid online and in person during this period reaches a total of MVR 2,913,839.61.
This is a marked increase from Fitr Zakat payments received in the same period in previous years.
Zakat can be paid in person during the first 20 days of Ramadan between 9.30am and 1pm every day on official working days.
During the last third of Ramadan (March 23 to March 30), counters accepting Zakat will be open from 11am to 2pm on all days except weekends.

- Dhiraagu: Dhiraagu App and Dhiraagu Pay (via website or sms)
- Ooredoo: mFaisaa (via application or sms)
- MIB: Faisa mobile (via app or Faisa Net)
- BML: BML Mobile (via app or website)
- FahiPay: (via app or website)
- Finance Ministry (via Bandeyri Pay, website or portal)
Zakat House said that in islands besides Male' City, the councils will make arrangements for Zakat to be received in cash.
