Villa International High School has opened up scholarship opportunities for 50 O-Level graduates.
Twenty students who had placed in the first place at the Top Ten in the O-Level examinations and twenty students who had placed second and third places in the Top Ten had been given scholarships. Additionally, five students who had won first place in a tournament carried out by Education Ministry and five students who had placed first place in individual subjects had also been given scholarships by the School.
The top ten student have been given a reprieve of MVR 1000 per month from their two year study period at the school. Other students have been given a reprieve of MVR 500 per month for a period of two years.
Students who had graduated from Villa International have been given scholarships from Villa College.
The “Open Day” carried out by VIHS on Friday was also well received by the public.
Speaking in the Open Day, School Principal, Saeed Ahmed said the school had carried out the Open Day to brief the public on the opportunities available in the school, given the high number of students studying for A-Levels.
Saeed added that the teachers at the school are of the highest standards, noting that most of the teachers are qualified Edexcel teachers. He said the school had the most well equipped laboratory in the country.
Saeed said that the institution was not just a tuition center for Edexcel examinations but an institution that provides a more holistic approach to education.
“We have introduced many resources to raise the standards of students. We are conducting many programs to raise quality of education for the students. We want to create a student body who is equipped to face the challenges of the 21st century,” he said.
