Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed have said that Hong Kong is interested in signing a free trade agreement with the Maldives.
Speaking to the media tonight، after concluding the China-Maldives free trade agreement talks in Bandos Island، Minister Saeed said that in the discussion Chinese officials and Maldivian delegates discussed on ways Hong Kong officials can take part in the current talks since they have expressed interest in a free trade agreement with Maldives.
Minister also said that once a Free Trade agreement is established between China and Maldives، Maldivian businessmen will benefit from it. Minister asked the businesses community in Maldives to be ready to make the best use of this opportunity. He also advised to come up with innovative ways to do businesses.
Minister noted that the FTA agreement will provide Maldivians with various opportunities in future.
