Criminal Court’s ruled 7-day remand extension on MDP Chairperson Ali Waheed، who was arrested following May 1st protest events، have been ruled out by High Court.
High Court had ruled out the remand order following Ali Waheed’s advocate team had appealed the case to the court.
Although Ali Waheed’s remand was given an extension of 7 days، he was released before due time. He was released upon PG Office confirming no consent against the release to Police.
Ali Waheed was first arrested following the Mayday event، sometime during the same night. At first he was granted a 15-day remand by Criminal Court، the case was appealed to High Court in a similar fashion. However High Court ruled in favor of Criminal Court’s sentence.
