The hearing of Ex-President Mohamed Nasheed at the Criminal Court has be postponed to 20:30 tonight.
Ex-President Nasheed was summoned to the Criminal Court tonight for the hearing of his trial، as the hearing on Sunday night was concluded due to defence attorney’s not attending the hearing.
During the hearing last night، the Presiding Bench stated tonight’s hearing will proceed whether or not the defence lawyers are present.
Meanwhile، the legal team of Ex-President Nasheed withdrew from the case stating they believe they are not given enough time for case evaluation and a solid ground to provide legal assistance to Nasheed.
Nasheed is pressed with terrorism charges by the State، for the unlawful detaining and isolating of the Criminal Court Chief Judge Abdulla ‘Gaazee’ Mohamed in 2012.
The hearing was originally tabled at 20:00.
