Chairperson of Maldives Democratic Party، Ali Waheed states the party had always upheld rallies in ideal measures، which they will always encourage، confirming they will not harm or damage any government properties during any of their rallies.
Speaking during a live program broadcast from Raajje TV، Ali Waheed asserted that MDP leadership has proven their belief and ideology can be easily accommodated by others as well. Further stressing their party will not stand to gain anything by damaging and harming public and government properties.
“We will never resort to mutiny، and our party members have proven this last night، and we do not wish anyone to receive any harm physically or in any manner from speeches that may provoke hatred among each other، we do not support that، our leadership has proven to others that our ideology and belief can be easily accommodated well by others and other parties as well” Ali Waheed said.
In addition to this، he also stated that MDP does not have any tactics or strategies to push Mohamed Nasheed aside from the party، instead they will continue to lend their support and would be a constant، standing right beside their leader at such trying times.
“We do not have any party or place to go after abandoning President Nasheed، and we guarantee all of our party members we will stand beside him” he asserted.
