Nazim was last granted medical leave in 2016 when he sought treatment for an eye issue in Singapore.
His family repeatedly expressed concern over authorities refusing to grant him medical leave abroad.
The United Nation’s Working Group on Arbitrary Detention has deemed Nazim’s imprisonment unlawful and the Supreme Court ordered authorities to release him on February 1.
