President: All school classrooms will have solar-powered ACs by September

The authorities are working on finishing the rollout of solar-powered air conditioning systems in the classrooms of all public schools across the Maldives by September, says President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
He made the remark in an address at a rally in R. Hulhudhuffaaru on Wednesday morning.
Addressing the rally, President Muizzu said he believes in creating a comfortable learning environment for students.
“We have begun a project to cool all classrooms, all classrooms across the Maldives. Our initial focus is the classrooms, rather than the entire school premises,” he said.

President Muizzu said the ACs will use solar power.
“In Sha Allah, the classrooms of all schools across the Maldives, including this island, will be cooled via solar powered-ACs in the coming days of this year. I personally guarantee this,” he said.
President Muizzu said the goal is to finish the project before September.
