MQA issues ‘red alert’ over suspension of multiple Sri Lankan colleges

Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA) issued a “red alert” on Wednesday, warning Maldivian students that several colleges in neighboring Sri Lanka have been suspended.
MQA said that it has been informed that several higher education institutions registered with Sri Lanka’s Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) have been suspended.
According to MQA, this includes Metropolitan College and ESOFT.
Metropolitan College conducts sources in fields such as education, business and psychology, while ESOFT has six schools focused on fields such as computing and engineering.
MQA asked Maldivian students enrolled at any of these educational institutes to contact the authority via email at [email protected] as soon as possible.
MQA also warned other Maldivian students against enrolling at the institutes at this time.
