Masjid Al Nabawi Imam and Khateeb Sheikh Salah Al-Budair has been granted permission by King of Saudi Arabia Salman Bin Abdul Azeez to make an official visit to Maldives.
Ministry of Islamic Affairs said that during his visit, Sheikh Salah Al-Budair will deliver a Friday sermon at the Islamic Ministry as well as a religious sermon to the public.
The Imam will also meet with local Islamic scholars and visit the Salman Mosque built with Saudi aid.
He will also pay a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, the ministry said.
The Ministry said that this is the first visit of an Imam of Masjid Al Nabawi to Maldives within the past 40 years. The last visit was for the official inauguration of the Islamic Centre.
