Yaisha Yasir Ibrahim of Dheyliyaage, H.A. Ihavandhoo, has once again secured the prestigious first place in the Rasthari Quran Competition 2025, organized by the Ihavandhoo Council and open to all islands of H.A. Atoll.
This marks Yaisha’s third consecutive victory, successfully defending her title and reaffirming her position as one of the most outstanding young reciters in the atoll.
The grand closing ceremony—beautifully organized and well-received—was held last night and honored by the presence of the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed.
This year’s top positions were:
1st Place: Yaisha Yasir Ibrahim (H.A. Ihavandhoo)
2nd Place: Mariyam Hiba Hussain of Vigorous, H.A. Dhidhdhoo
3rd Place: Aishath Maiha Maahir of Rahmedhuge, H.A. Ihavandhoo
A total of 7 islands participated in the competition, with audition rounds conducted in each island. To maintain the standard, each island was allocated 10 slots, resulting in 54 final participants.

Dhidhdhoo – 1st Place Island
Ihavandhoo – 2nd Place Island
Kelaa – 3rd Place Island
Prizes awarded:
1st Place: MVR 10,000 + Umrah trip
2nd Place: MVR 6,000
3rd Place: MVR 3,000
Island prizes included MVR 10,000 for first place, MVR 7,000 for second, and MVR 5,000 for third.
Held from the 27th to 29th of this month, this was the third edition of the Rasthari Quran Competition. The event aims to nurture love for the Holy Quran, elevate recitation standards, and encourage a healthy competitive spirit among the youth of the atoll.
