The police have conducted a special awareness activity in Kulhudhuffushi City to educate the public on crime prevention.
According to the police, this initiative, carried out last Sunday by Neighborhood Officers of the Kulhudhuffushi City Police, was specifically targeted ahead of the upcoming month of Ramadan.
The primary objective of this activity is to raise public awareness regarding crime prevention during Ramadan and to further strengthen the relationship between the police and the community. As part of this effort, officers visited households across the city to provide guidance on measures that can be taken to protect against theft.
During these visits, the police urged residents to remain vigilant during times when thefts are most likely to occur during Ramadan. Specifically, they advised ensuring that shops and home doors are properly locked when leaving for the mosque during prayer times. Additionally, information was shared regarding safety measures to prevent fire incidents while working in the kitchen.
Highlighting precautions to be taken while shopping, the police appealed for extra caution regarding online transactions. Furthermore, as many people head out for evening drives during Ramadan, the police advised the public to prioritize road safety and remain attentive while operating vehicles.
Emphasizing the importance of complying with land transport regulations, the police urged citizens not to drive without a license and to strive to remain safe from crime at all times. The police noted that this is part of the ongoing efforts to ensure that Ramadan remains a peaceful and safe month.
During the activity, the police requested the public to report any issues they encounter without delay to seek solutions. They also provided full assurance that police assistance would be available whenever the public requires it.
