The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has issued a final reminder to inactive companies that the deadline to apply for reactivation expires on 30 December.
In a social media announcement, the Ministry warned that firms failing to submit reactivation applications by the due date will face mandatory liquidation under the provisions of the Companies Act.
Companies listed as inactive can verify their status by scanning a QR code shared on the Ministry’s official platforms. To resume operations, businesses must submit a formal request through the Ministry’s business portal, including a board-approved resolution, annual financial statements, corporate reports, and proof of payment to the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA).
Applications meeting all requirements will be processed, with approvals granted for resumption of activities within 15 days. The Ministry urges affected companies to act promptly to avoid legal dissolution.
