Opposition Maldivian Democratic Party has notified the government that MDP PG leader MP Ibrahim Mohamed Solih (Ibu) will be representing the party in the discussions with the government.
MDP notified the matter as the Spokesperson at President’s Office، Ibrahim Muaz Ali، stated that MDP has not officially notified the government that they are holding talks without former President Nasheed.
The party informed that they have notified the government that Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will be representing the party ‘for the time being’ during the talks.
Home Minister Umar Naseer Fisheries Minister Dr. Mohamed Shainee and President’s Office Minister Abdulla Ameen will be representing the government during the talks with MDP.
MDP had announced they will be proposing the government to change the governance to a parliamentary system. They further said they will be proposing demands of the immediate release of former president Mohamed Nasheed and other political detainees.
