Sufficient number of teachers in Kulhudhuffushi’s three government schools; no major difficulties in obtaining books

Following the commencement of the new academic year, the Mayor of Kulhudhuffushi City, Mohamed Athif, visited the three government schools in the city to inquire about their current status.
During this visit, the Mayor met with the school principals to discuss the progress of educational activities and the challenges currently being faced.
According to the Kulhudhuffushi City Council, a total of 2,717 students are enrolled in the city’s three government schools this year.
School managements noted that there is currently a sufficient number of teachers required for instruction. Additionally, the schools highlighted that there have been no significant difficulties in obtaining the necessary books for students.
However, the Council stated that the greatest challenge facing all three schools is the lack of space. The City Council further noted that during the Mayor’s visit, it was observed that the construction of classrooms and infrastructure projects initiated to resolve the space constraints are not progressing at an adequate pace.
The City Council added that due to these space constraints, two schools in Kulhudhuffushi continue to conduct classes in two shifts this year.
According to the City Council, the Mayor extended his greetings for the new academic year to the school leadership and provided assurances that the Council would offer all possible cooperation.
