Zakat donation from UAE Red Crescent earmarked for children under state care

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has handed over Zakat al-Fitr funds donated by the Red Crescent Society of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Ministry of Social and Family Development. The funds are earmarked for the benefit of children under state care.
The UAE’s Red Crescent has donated a total of USD 40,780.44. The purpose of the donation is to help children under state care, including children with special needs, take part in the celebrations of Eid al-Fitr. The assistance is intended to cover the purchase of Eid clothing and distribution of food packages. The Ministry of Social and Family Development has confirmed that special activities are planned as part of Eid celebrations this year. These activities will be held in the Greater Male’ Region and as well across various atolls.
This contribution from the Emirates Red Crescent reflects the strong and longstanding relationship between the two countries and their shared commitment to supporting vulnerable communities.
