Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) delivers rock boulders required for shore protection of Kaafu atoll Maafushi.
As such, the contractor on Thursday, 16 July 2020, made confirmation of transporting the material necessary under the Land Reclamation and Shore Protection project at the island.
Moreover, MTCC confirm completion of land reclamation of 25 hectares of land area under the project.
Overall progress of the project stands at 66% as per contractor.
Furthermore, MTCC comments revetment installation of 1110 meters will commence as part of the project.
The project aims to provide long-run solution towards high demand on residential plots in the island.
Maldives government awarded the project to MTCC on 27 August 2019 for an estimated total of MVR99.98 million.
