Football Association of Maldives (FAM)'s Secretary General Hussain Javaz, announced the decision to dismiss Judan Ali as the technical director of the association.
According to local media Mihaaru, Judan was signed on a long term contract with a monthly salary of USD 9000. His wages were paid by sponsors.
However, Javaz stated that the decision came after negotiations with Judan to reduce his salary amid the COVID-19 pandemic did not reach an agreement in time, expressing great difficulties in acquiring sponsor funds during the economic and health crisis, highlighting the subsequent need to reduce operating costs.
In order to retain Judan, FAM had proposed to reduce his salary by half, offering him USD 4,500 a month.
Although the duration of his contract is unknown, international media have previously reported on Judan's claims that FAM signed him on a 10-year contract in December, 2019.
Judan was preceded by the German-Turkish national Can Vanli, who also had a short spell at the association having been appointed in 2017 and dismissed in 2018.
Judan has served in various managerial positions across the football industry. In 2013, he served as Head of Elite Football Development for the Chinese Taipei Football Association in Taiwan.
Mentored by the late legendary footballer Johan Cruyff, Judan had previously assisted Cruyff in coaching the youth teams of La Masia, the youth academy of FC Barcelona.
