Islamic Minister Dr. Ahmed Ziyad Baqir has appealed not to spread false statements on religious activities such as Hajj.
He made the statement in response to the media reports that the 1000 Hajj quota granted to Maldives by Saudi Arabia has been cancelled.
Dr. Ziyad assured that all who had paid to go on Hajj this year will be able to attend Hajj and will publicize the table soon.
It has been confirmed to Miadhu that none of the quota has been canceled and that the Government had made the announcement when they had gotten the confirmation. Even though an administrative hitch had forced a delay, the issue had been resolved.
An additional quota of 1000 was granted after President Abdullah Yameen had invested in developing the relations between the two nations.
