Civil Court has ordered Allam Latheef to pay back over 1000 dollars which he withdrew using a Bank of Maldives VISA gold credit card. Allam Latheef is a major suspect in the MMPRC corruption scandal.
Court ordered Allam in absentia, after BML filed the case to the Civil Court on 19th December. The verdict by Judge Mohammed Haleem states that, evidence proves that Allam has to pay 1092.99 dollars to Bank of Maldives. The verdict further states that, he should pay back the amount within three months in addition to interest rates and penalties.
Allam is currently living in the United Kingdom. He left Maldives within a few days after the bomb blast in the Presidential launch. Interpol has released a red notice to find Allam.
Meanwhile MMPRC has filed a case in the Civil Court, to get back 165 million Rufiyaa from SOF, a company of which Allam is a majority shareholder. MMPRC is demanding to get back 10.3 million dollars which was given to SOF under and agreement and another 400,000 dollars that was loaned to SOF. Also MMPRC requested to annul the agreement between SOF and MMPRC.
