‘No resentments against the assailants’ – Ali Waheed

The opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Chairperson Ali Waheed has stated that he has no hard feelings against the ‘brutes’، adding that ‘they will soon learn’.
Ali Waheed made the statement on a tweet he posted on Monday، along with another tweet saying، “Thanks to the custodial police، medics and helpers. There is hope that things would get better. Justice will prevail.”
Emphasizing that “this is MDP”، Ali Waheed stated that their ‘resolution will not be shaken’.
Ali Waheed was released after 24 days in Police detention، when Prosecutor General’s Office notified the Police they do not have any objection of releasing him.
Ali Waheed’s remand was extended two times; First time by 15 days and later by 7 days.
Ali Waheed was arrested on the protest held at May 1st claiming that he made comments that made violence erupt in the protest.
