His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu extended his felicitations to the President of the Republic of India, Her Excellency Droupadi Murmu, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of India, His Excellency Narendra Modi, on the Republic Day of India.
In separate letters to the leaders, the President conveyed his warmest greetings and sincere good wishes from the Government and the people of the Maldives to the Government and the friendly people of India on the joyous occasion.
President Dr Muizzu stated that the Maldives-India partnership is built on mutual trust, respect, and understanding that have withstood the test of time. He further reaffirmed the Maldives’ full commitment to working closely with the Government of India to strengthen their strategic partnership and effectively address common challenges on both bilateral and international fronts.
The President also expressed his best wishes for the good health and well-being of the President and Prime Minister and for the continued peace, prosperity, and progress of the friendly people of India.
The Republic Day of India is celebrated every January 26th. The Maldives and India established diplomatic relations on July 26, 1965.
The President also shared a message on his official ‘X’ account extending well-wishes to the Republic of India on their Republic Day.
