The pilot activity of the Maldives Police Service’s ‘Ramatha Program’, which is planned to be conducted in school areas at Hulhumale’, was held near Ghaazee School on Wednesday.
‘Ramatha Program’ is a program by the Police which will conducted near school areas at Hulhumale’. It aims to ensure that roads in Hulhumale’ are safe and orderly, while also raising public awareness about road regulations. The program is a part of a series and will be conducted with the participation of school traffic monitors and their parents.

During the program, the Police said the public was advised to drive cautiously for their own safety and the safety of others. They were also reminded to be mindful when parking, to check both directions before crossing the road, and to follow instructions given by the police to help maintain road safety and security.
Hulhumale’ is among districts in the Maldives with the highest rates of accidents. Many changes have been recently made to the traffic flow of the district recently in order to reduce accidents.
The Police routinely conducts programs for school students to raise awareness regarding road regulations.
