The Sun Siyam Group has contributed a total of USD 301,701 to support neighboring Sri Lanka in the aftermath of cyclone Ditwah.  
The cyclone struck Sri Lanka in mid‑November, leaving hundreds of thousands of people displaced and causing severe damage to public infrastructure. Already grappling with an economic crisis, the country is in urgent need of international assistance.  
Founder Ahmed Siyam Mohamed launched a special fundraising campaign across all Sun Siyam resorts and companies. In addition, Siyam personally pledged USD 200,000, of which USD 75,000 was handed over last month.

At a ceremony held Wednesday at Sun Siyam headquarters, the total donation was formally presented to Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to the Maldives, Mohamed Rizvi Hassen. Contributions included USD 101,701 raised by resorts and companies, alongside Siyam’s remaining USD 125,000, bringing the total to USD 301,701.  
Speaking at the ceremony, Siyam expressed gratitude to his employees for their solidarity:  
“Your assistance will go a long way in helping the people of Ceylon overcome the difficulties they face today,” he said.

High Commissioner Rizvi thanked Siyam and the Sun Siyam Group, describing the aid as proof of the company’s generosity and its close relationship with Sri Lanka. He noted that the people of Sri Lanka warmly welcome the support, which will greatly assist in rebuilding lives.  
Sri Lanka is also home to Sun Siyam Pasikuda, a five‑star luxury resort operated by the group, which has won TripAdvisor’s Best of the Best award at the Travelers’ Choice Awards.
