Bank of Maldives (BML), on Monday, donated MVR 150,000 to local NGO Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC) to support vulnerable children amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Under the ARC AID Programme, vulnerable children and their families are provided basic food supplies. BML's donation will be utilised to finance assistance to children in five islands across Haa Alif Atoll, Haa Dhaalu Atoll, Meemu Atoll, Faafu Atoll and Dhaalu Atoll.
The bank also made a donation of MVR 50,000 to ARC's AID Programme in May. These funds were used to support a list of 115 children in the Greater Male’ region that were highlighted as vulnerable by the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services.
ARC has revealed its aim to expand the outreach of its AID programme in the future.
