Economic Ministry has stated that the Ministry aims to ensure that all major local companies in the Maldives Investment Forum to be held in October.
Speaking to press, Registrar of Companies Mariyam Wisam stated that the Forum, which will be held from the 19th onward in China, had already attracted the attention of China and many other nations.
She said that the Ministry will focus on establishing capital markets, commercial banks and other financial institutions. She also said that renewable energy, youth projects such as youth city and sports complexes will also be in the spotlight this year.
Wisam added that registration for the Forum is open until the 5th of October and that 90 percent of the Forum slots had already been filled. She said that confirmation will be given to the applicants after the 5th of next month.
She said that businesses and stakeholders from Sri Lanka, Singapore, Australia, India and many other Asian nations had registered for the Forum.
China has been active in promoting the Forum and to bring in investment opportunities. Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed had recently paid a visit to China to expedite the processes of the Forum.
