All employees of Elections Commission summoned to Independent Institutions Committee

All 46 employees of Elections Commission have been summoned to Parliament’s Independent Institutions Committee at 21:00 this evening.
Sun has been informed that they have been summoned in relation to a case currently under investigation by the Committee following complaints filed by the employees against Commission Members.
This is the first time such a large number of employees of a single institution are summoned to a Parliament Committee.
The letter sent by the employees to the Independent Institutions Committee states that the Commission Members carry out illegal practices, which causes intimidation to the employees. They accused the Commission Members of using Commission property for personal purposes, and mistreating employees by attacking them personally.
The Parliament Independent Institutions Committee is chaired by Kulhudhuffushi MP Mohamed Nasheed.
