President calls for leveraging communication advancements to promote the Maldives

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that we should leverage the world's rapid advancements in communication to promote and publicise the Maldives.
He made these comments in a post shared on his official X account, coinciding with today's observation of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD).
In his post, the President expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards all communication and information dissemination service providers for their invaluable contributions to the country's new wealth. He acknowledged their efforts and wished them continued success in their work for the country's development and future.
One of the significant changes that the world is experiencing in the 21st century is the accelerated growth in communication and information sharing. This has paved the way for disseminating news and information about various topics to a global audience in a timely fashion, as individuals deem fit. The President, recognising the potential of this transformation, encouraged the assumption of personal responsibility for sharing the truth while distributing information across different platforms and for verifying the accuracy of the information received.
In this regard, the Government's 'Maldives 2.0' initiative, a vision for a more transparent and accountable future, provides information about all governmental actions and eliminates avenues for corruption and undue influence.
