President discusses key development priorities with Guraidhoo Island Council, WDC, and institutional heads

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with members of the Th. Guraidhoo Island Council, the Women’s Development Committee (WDC), and heads of local institutions to discuss key development priorities. The meeting was held at Rah’vehi Maalam.
During the discussions, council members highlighted the community’s most pressing needs. They called for the establishment of dedicated sports facilities for women, a solution to harbour-related issues, and the relocation of the existing harbour entrance. The Council also requested a shore protection initiative on the eastern side of the island, measures to address space constraints at the school, and the expedited completion of the hospital. School officials further requested the introduction of vocational training programmes, while the fishing community shared their specific concerns.
The President assured participants that the Government would take their concerns into account. He was accompanied by cabinet ministers and senior officials from State-Owned Enterprises, who also provided updates on ongoing development projects.
