President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has held consultations with the Island Council, the Women’s Development Committee (WDC), and local institution leaders to discuss development priorities in Kaafu Kaashidhoo. The meeting took place at the administrative office of the Kaashidhoo Health Centre.
Council members highlighted key issues essential to the island’s development. They urged the renovation of the harbour and requested improvements to the Health Centre, noting the challenges faced by the community in accessing adequate healthcare, as the facility is not equipped to provide X-ray or scan services.
The Council also shared updates on the island’s tourism initiative, outlining progress on the development of the Kaashidhoo Tourism Village.
President Dr Muizzu assured that the concerns and requests raised during the discussions would receive due consideration. The accompanying delegation of Cabinet ministers and heads of State-Owned Enterprises also provided the latest updates on ongoing development projects in Kaashidhoo.
