Hanimaadhoo secured a crucial victory over Nellaidhoo in today’s match of the Hdh. Atoll Zone, Northern Region, of the “BML Atoll Championship 2025/2026,” the new tournament introduced by the Football Association of Maldives (FAM).
The match, played at the Kulhudhuffushi Zone Stadium, ended with Hanimaadhoo winning 3–2, giving the team a significant boost in their bid to reach the final.
Hanimaadhoo opened the scoring at 10:57 in the first half. Although Nellaidhoo equalized from a penalty at 16:40, Hanimaadhoo quickly regained control and restored their lead shortly after.
The tournament continues this Friday, the 7th, with a match between Kulhudhuffushi and Hanimaadhoo. Nellaidhoo will face Nolhivaram on Saturday. The final of the Hdh. Atoll Zone will be played on the 11th of this month.
Teams representing Hdh. Atoll in this tournament are Kulhudhuffushi City, Hanimaadhoo, Nellaidhoo, and Nolhivaram. Ha. Atoll is represented by Dhidhdhoo and Ihavandhoo, whose first match is scheduled for tomorrow, followed by their second match on the 9th.
No island from Sh. Atoll is participating in this edition of the tournament.
