Despite a 3-2 loss to Kulhudhuffushi in today’s match of the Hdh. Atoll Zone in the North Region of the inaugural Atoll Championship 2025/2026, organized by the Football Association of Maldives (FAM), Team Hanimaadhoo has secured the first spot in the final.
This afternoon’s match, played at the Kulhudhuffushi Zone Stadium, saw Kulhudhuffushi edge past Hanimaadhoo with a tight 3-2 result.
Hanimaadhoo’s place in the final was confirmed through goal difference, as the team had remained unbeaten in all previous matches of the tournament.
Earlier, Hanimaadhoo defeated Nolhivaram 3-0 in the tournament’s second match, followed by a 3-2 win against Nellidhoo.
Tomorrow’s scheduled fixture will see Nolhivaram take on Nellidhoo.
For Team Nolhivaram to reach the final, they must score five goals in tomorrow’s match, as they currently trail Team Kulhudhuffushi by a five-goal difference. Even if Nellidhoo wins, the finalists will remain Kulhudhuffushi and Hanimaadhoo.
The final match of the tournament is set to be played on November 11.
