Health Expo 2025 Taps PSM to Lead Nationwide Coverage in Drive for Public Awareness

Public Service Media (PSM) has been formally appointed as the official media partner for Health Expo 2025, a national initiative led by the Ministry of Health to advance public awareness and participation in health-related efforts. The agreement was signed on Saturday during a ceremony held at PSM’s headquarters.
The expo, fully administered by the ministry, is being conducted under the government’s policy framework aimed at fostering a resilient and health-conscious society. Its principal objective is to heighten public understanding of key health issues and to encourage active civic engagement in building a healthier population.
Health Minister Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim, speaking in an exclusive interview with PSM News, underscored. the strategic importance of the initiative. He identified public awareness as the foundation of disease prevention. “The most critical action required to strengthen our efforts toward disease prevention is the cultivation of public awareness regarding these issues. This is precisely the endeavour we are currently undertaking,” Minister Nazim said.
He described the exhibition as an inclusive national undertaking, highlighting the breadth of participation across the country. “The health expo is an important and inclusive initiative, executed with the full participation of the citizenry. In this context, we note the significant participation of hospitals from the atolls in this year’s expo, in addition to those from Malé,” he added.
This year’s edition marks a notable expansion. Unlike the previous iteration, hospitals from the atolls will now join their counterparts in Malé. Minister Nazim confirmed this broader participation, underscoring the government’s commitment to decentralised health engagement.
The media partnership is designed to amplify the reach of the expo. Ibrahim Nasreen, Managing Director of PSM, outlined the broadcaster’s role under the agreement, affirming that PSM will utilise its full media capacity, including television, radio, and news programming, to deliver consistent coverage. “Through PSM, we are consistently committed to promoting expos and initiatives, such as those advancing public awareness in critical sectors like health, via our channels and radio, ensuring we leverage every available resource within our media capacity,” Nasreen said.
He confirmed that PSM will provide timely updates and coverage throughout the duration of the event. “Consequently, we will deliver the most up-to-date information concerning this year’s expo through PSM’s various television channels and radio outlets,” he added.
Health Expo 2025 is scheduled to take place from 13 to 15 November at Hulhumalé Central Park. Minister Nazim noted that the timing of the event carries ceremonial significance, as it coincides with the second anniversary of the current administration.
