Deputy CEO of BML Muhammad Shareef have said that the bank will start Islamic financing services this February.
In a ceremony held last night at Champa Central Hotel by BML to launch “Aharenge Bank” program, Shareef talked about the various achievements of the bank.
Shareef said that BML was founded 34 years ago, and today the bank is a modern bank with state of the art facilities. He said that anyone with a smartphone can now access the bank’s services and no one should worry about not having an ATM nearby anymore.
“In addition, we are financing to improve livelihoods of people. Education, housing, and businesses are all areas we provide financial assistance” said Shareef. He said that the bank is a partner of national development and the bank is fully taking part in all endeavors related to national development.
“If we look at last year, 19 million transactions were done from cash cards alone. A total of 23 billion Rufiyaa flowed in these transactions. That is 40,000 Rufiyaa per minute.
Shareef noted that BML has made huge investments in Maldives and even if we add the investments of all other banks in Maldives, it will not be close to what BML has invested.
