Defense Minister Adam Shareef Umar have said that increase of terrorism and extremism is destroying the whole world.
He made this statement while talking at the opening ceremony of “International Conference on Counter Terrorism and Extremism” held at Kurumba Maldives. He said that now terrorism has spread to the whole world without any boundaries. He further said that fear is spread in all society due to the meaningless killings and that the economy of the countries are getting destroyed because of this.
Adam Shareef said that since Maldives is a hundred percent Muslim country, Maldives will never give chance to terrorism and extremism.
“Islam is the religion of peace. The religion of mutual respect. There is no room for cruelty in Islam” said the Minister.
Adam Shareef also assured that Maldives will cooperate with the rest of the world, with counter terrorism efforts. In addition, he shared information about some of the activities Maldives has done so far.
