The release of the jailed former president Mohamed Nasheed would save Maldives from collapsing، says opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).
Speaking at the MDP rally held yesterday evening، the party’s vice president Mohamed Shifaz said that if former president Mohamed Nasheed is not released، Maldives will plunge into ruins.
Shifaz said that European and world major countries would impose economic sanctions against the Maldives if Nasheed is not released.
Noting that harming an individual will not bring any success، Shifaz said that MDP will not rest until their leader is released.
"Nasheed’s release would secure the future of this country" – Shifaz
