“We got the land to keep the goats only three days before. Therefore we could not do much. Thousands of people have to be out here in the sunlight. We have to do everything under the scorching sun. There was no water arrangement so had to bring all water from outside these three days. We didn’t even get assistance to make a tent,” he said.
They were involved in this business for 6 years. They stated that they warned that the goats will be sunken in the sea if they were not taken from Thilafushi within 24 hours.
“We stated to do as they please and this is not something we are doing for profit. This is for the sake of Allah. We can only take them when we get a land from Male’ to keep them,” he said.
The goats are imported three months earlier from India after giving the required vaccines.
Many have raised concern regarding the lack of cooperation given by the government on making arrangements for the goats.
