Former President Nasheed have said that they can only participate in the party talks when all political leaders are freed. He said that proper talks cannot be held while some politicians are held “hostage” by the government.

Government is starting talks between parties tomorrow. It will be mediated by an envoy of the Commonwealth. Previous attempt to hold talks by the government failed because MDP and AP refused to take part.
