President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has emphasized the importance of embracing diversity and differing perspectives as a driving force for national progress, in a message marking the International Day of Living Together in Peace.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), President Muizzu stated that unity in diversity is essential to fostering a peaceful and inclusive society.
“As we mark the International Day of Living Together in Peace, let us recognize the differences and diverse perspectives in our society as a force for our development,” the President wrote. “We must unite more strongly to create an environment where everyone can live together in harmony and peace, with space for all.”
His message echoes the values promoted by the United Nations, which established May 16 as the International Day of Living Together in Peace through resolution 72/130. The day encourages global efforts to strengthen peace, tolerance, mutual understanding, and solidarity.
