The famous international lawyer، Amal Clooney has said that ex-president Nasheed hopes that the current condition of Maldives will get better and that he requested the public to not lose hope.
Amal Clooney arrived in Maldives yesterday to meet with Nasheed.
Along with Amal، lawyers of ex-president Nasheed’s legal team، Hisan Hussain and Hassan Latheef also visited the prison and met with Nasheed.
Amal has also said that Nasheed appeared very brave and bold in the meeting today with his legal team.
“Nasheed was happy to know that I will be taking part on his behalf in the meetings to be held with the government”، said Amal.
Amal has said that she will share further information with the media later on.
Amal is expected to meet with former President Nasheed، his lawyers and heads of the government، about the 13 year jail sentence on Nasheed on terror charges.
International lawyer، Jared Genser of ex-president Nasheed’s legal team is expected to arrive in Maldives today.
According to Nasheed’s Office، Amal Clooney and Jared Genser will be working in Maldives until the 10th of this month.
The international lawyers have requested to meet with President Yameen، Vice President Ahmed Adheeb، Home Minister Umar Naseer، Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon and PG Muhthaaz Muhsin.According to Nasheed’s Office، Amal Clooney and Jared Genser will be working in Maldives until the 10th of this month.
